Chris Clayton

Anatomy Trains Structural Integration Certified Teacher / Anatomy Trains in Training Certified Teacher

Certified to teach:

  • Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function

  • Anatomy Trains in Training

  • Structural Essentials (ATSI Part 1)

  • Structural Strategies (ATSI Part 2)

Chris Clayton lives in Southeast Queensland Australia, where he and his wife Maree operate their Structural Integration and movement therapy Clinic in the regional City of Toowoomba. Chris is a certified Anatomy Trains Structural Integrator and a movement therapist where he practices structural integration and implements Anatomy Trains for Performance (ATP) methods as the backbone of his movement therapy strategy.

Chris’ first love was and still is the martial arts, where he teaches for free and strives to be a perpetual student, a journey that has spanned 44 years or more so far. It was in his early years of training, where he saw his martial arts instructor successfully treat fellow students when they presented at class with basic injuries. Chris was immediately profoundly interested in what he saw, when he asked his teacher what he could do to follow the healer’s path, his teacher pointed him to anatomy, Chris has been following that advice ever since.

Chris has been in the coaching/training industry for over 40 years and holds Diplomas in Sport Development, Sport Coaching and Fitness. Since 2007, Chris has taught Sport Coaching and Fitness qualifications for the Australian College of Sport Development and YMCA Brisbane as an industry partner for over a decade before becoming an Anatomy Trains Certified Teacher. Over time, it became ever more apparent, that the best way to improve an athlete or client was to be able improve them where they were most vulnerable.

This led Chris to continue his learning and integrate manual therapy into his work, eventually resulting in Chris becoming an ATSI practitioner. Chris has authored and developed a new athletic performance and resilience course called Anatomy Trains for Performance (ATP). ATP is suitable for Trainers, Coaches, and individuals who are interested in training performance and fascial resilience. Chris teaches regularly in in Southeast Asia and Australia. Like most therapists, Chris just likes to help people feel better and most days he will be found happily working with his clients at his clinic

Introduction

Anatomy trains for Performance is the latest Anatomy Trains course to be developed using Tom Myers myofascial meridians. Anatomy Trains for Performance (ATP) has been developed and authored by Certified Anatomy Trains Teacher Chris Clayton, who has been involved in Fitness, coaching and human performance for over 40 years.

Chris has always been fascinated with human performance; he has trained with many different types of sport coaches within several disciplines, including World Champions and people who have mastered their chosen way to move. This is one of the reasons he was drawn so strongly to Anatomy Trains. He knew that his own training and coaching experience had room to develop further, but he was not able to identify what this missing vital element was, until he read Tom Myers Anatomy trains book and then subsequently studied with Tom Myers and Julie Hammond among many other Anatomy Trains Teachers.  He found that the Anatomy Trains Lines provided the perfect road map to understand how force travelled via myofascial and how it could be utilised as an important component within any training strategy.

This three-day course is aimed at anyone who is a Trainer/Coach, or someone individually interested in how to utilise the fascial network as an integral part of their performance improvement strategy.

This course is designed to assist coaches/trainers and individuals at all levels to help bring about progressive performance enhancement whilst concurrently building resilience into their client and or athlete.
